AED in Debden

An AED, or automated external defibrillator, is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Currently, the only way to restore a regular heart rhythm during cardiac arrest is to use an AED. It can analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

Of course, you should always phone 9-1-1. However, due to our location and the response time of the ambulance, having access to an AED and knowing how to use one, is critical.

Where are they?

Emergency Communication

Please be advised that the Village has enlisted the mass messaging services of the Canadian company, Telmatik. Telmatik provides a web-based alerting and notification system that allows us to send messages through text, email, automated phone calls, and voice mail. We plan to utilize this system to notify and update the community for situations such as water outages (planned or unplanned), boil water advisories and emergency events.

In order to make this service a success, we are asking that all residents and business owners confirm their contact information with the Village office and a desired preference for communications (calling/text/email).

We would also ask that home and business owners that rent their space provide renter’s contact information so they may be included in alerts that would involve them. You may fill out and return the sheet on the reverse side, email the information to villagedebden@sasktel.net or visit the link on debden.ca and fill out the information directly.

Please note that contact information provided will be kept confidential. Although some residents have returned their information for the Emergency Measures Plan, it is requested you send this information also so we know what communication you would prefer.
